At 2035 hours tonight the Star Hose Company #1 was dispatched on Box 0321 for a reported chimney fire at 31 Ransome Street. Chief 3 (Ernst) and Chief 320 (T. Roys) both responded at the time of dispatch followed by Engine 33 (Chief F. Roys) with 5, Engine 32 (Capt. M. Johnson) with 6 and Rescue 38 (FF D. Hobbs) with 4. Chief 320 arrived first and reported a working fire in the rear of the residence.
Engine 33 laid a supply line from the intersection of Main Street and Ransome Street and quickly went to work putting a stop on the advancing fire. Engine 32 arrived and split their crew, with half setting up the water supply and the rest taking care of ventilation and mop up. Rescue 38 crew checked for extension and performed salvage. The fire was under control at 2055 and all units were available at 2212.
Engine 46-2 (Roulette) stood by at our station during the incident.
