In Bradford City (Station 1) this afternoon, a second alarm house fire resulted in 2 firefighters being injured, one critical with burns. Initial and unconfirmed reports indicate that a firefighter fell approximately 10 feet from a ladder resulting in minor injuries, and another firefighter was making an attack on the well-involved second floor when his facepiece became dislodged, causing him to inhale super-heated smoke and gases. Firefighter Todd McClain was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center, where he was sedated and intubated before being transfered to Erie County Medical Center - Buffalo Burn Unit with severe respiratory burns. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Star Hose Company family are with our Brothers of the Bradford City Fire Department, and especially Firefighter McClain and his family.
