The members of the Star Hose Co. #1 invite all members of the community to join us for an Open House at the station as part of National Fire Prevention Week. Fire Department members will be staffing the station to meet and educate the public on various fire prevention topics including: "Stop, Drop, Cover and Roll", Fire Escape Routes and Smoke Detector placement and usage.
A live fire demonstration will also be held several times throughout the evening to show first hand the dangers of kitchen stove-top grease fires. Proper extinguishment methods will be covered and how improper actions can lead to disastrous results.
We look forward to seeing you this Thursday, October 8th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the station located at 65 W. Maple St. in Port Allegany.
